Pe numele real Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom, actorul britanic Orlando Bloom s-a nascut in data de 13 ianuarie 1977 in Canterbury (Kent). Inca de la inceputul carierei s-a bucurat de un real succes, datorita rolului Legolas din trilogia "Stapanul Inelelor (The Lord of the Rings)". Desi pe bancile scolii era atras mai mult de teatru, Bloom a devenit unul dintre cei mai apreciati actori de film, chiar daca nu a fost un copil academic sau atletic, abia reusind sa termine liceul St. Edmundsas din Carterbury din cauza bolii numite dislexie.
